Our Strategy

The Canadian Marriage & Family Network provides resources and training through a strategic, onsite coaching track primarily aimed at equipping volunteers under the direction of a staff champion in each network church.  This is accomplished most effectively through a collaborative network of 6-12 churches in a given region, optimizing the shared experience and resources in those churches.

  • We will commit to providing the best possible tools & training together with the strategic follow up necessary to establish sustainable and transformational marriage and family ministries in each network church.
  • We will also actively seek collaborative relationships with existing organizations and ministries who share our desire to transform families in Canada through the ministry of the local church.

While remaining open to the unique needs of each local church and network, CMFN’s efforts will primarily focus on establishing marriage mentoring and enrichment initiatives in our network churches.  This will be accomplished through a coaching model of intensive and strategic quarterly training weekends over a one to two year term with a marriage and family coach.

Marriage Mentoring

CMFN has come to believe that “life on life” connection is one of the most effective tools for nurturing healthy, life giving marriages through authentic relationships.  When one couple has the opportunity to meet with a more seasoned couple and is able to ask the tough questions in a safe, non-judgmental environment, significant transformation can take place.  Mentoring can provide the ongoing accountability necessary for couples to continue implementing relational tools learned through courses and counseling.

Marriage Mentors in Dallas Texas is partnering with CMFN, having trained and affirmed Greg McCombs as the Canadian trainer for their material.  Both the content of their material and the online support they provide is truly second to none in supporting both mentor couples and ministry coordinators.  Please visit their site and see for yourself the great work they have done to ensure that the mentoring of marriages is both Christ-centered and sustainable in each local church.

    Hey Greg,

Hope all is well with you. Hey we are looking into doing something with Marriage Mentors and I see that you are the contact person for Canada. Was wondering if we could hook up some time to talk more about how to get something like this going in our Church.

    Sam
