Who We Are
Our Mission
To inspire and facilitate sustainable church networks across Canada that are passionate about transforming marriages and families.
Our History
In May of 2006, several organizations including The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, Focus on the Family Canada, ACTS Seminary and others initiated a gathering of fifty plus leaders from numerous evangelical and mainline denominations for the National Marriage Summit in Jackson’s Point Ontario. The purpose of the summit was to discuss together the state of marriage education in Canada and determine possible next steps for making significant changes to our current state through the local church, para-church organizations and educational institutions.
What came of this summit was the formation of a lead team made up of representatives from several established para-church organizations & educational institutions as well as three pastors involved in family ministries from across Canada. The task given this team was to continue to advance the plans and outcomes established at the summit, and while the composition of this team has changed, the commitment to transform the spiritual and relational landscape in Canadian marriages and families through the local church has not.
Our Future
CMFN will move forward with its efforts to help churches build effective and sustainable marriage and family ministries through strategic partnerships with other local churches in their area. CMFN believes that collaboration between local churches who have a shared desired to transform families is essential in building truly transformational ministries to the hurting marriages and families of our churches and the communities that we serve.
